DriveWealth, a platform which provides brokerage services to financial companies, is set to integrate Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin into its global brokerage infrastructure.
The partnership was announced on October 14 and will initially focus on stablecoin settlement in Europe, with plans to expand to the United States. The companies intend to collaborate on cross-border payments and digital asset custody, with the aim of providing faster fund transfers for brokerage clients and reducing delays associated with bank transfers.
Global investing is evolving. The infrastructure behind it should too.
We’re partnering with @DriveWealth across RLUSD settlement on the XRP Ledger, cross-border payments, custody and prime brokerage to modernize how money moves across global markets.
Together, we’re building a more connected, efficient and always-on global investing ecosystem. 💪🏼

The initial settlement service will utilise RLUSD on XRP Ledger, a blockchain network, alongside Ripple’s tools for issuing and removing tokens from circulation. The collaboration aims to provide clients with the ability to fund and manage collateral accounts with stablecoins that can be redeemed for cash in near real-time.
This could present a solution to a common challenge facing brokerage firms. US stock trades generally settle on a T+1 basis, whereas international bank transfers can take longer to process. As a result, brokers and their clients may need to maintain additional liquidity in order to satisfy obligations when funds arrive late.
The usage of stablecoin-based transfers could alleviate some of these pressures by enabling faster fund movements. However, the companies have not announced a launch date, expected transaction volumes or the first markets where the service will become available.
DriveWealth and @Ripple are partnering to bring $RLUSD settlement, cross-border payments, and digital asset custody to clients around the world, starting in Europe. The future of financial markets is borderless, timeless, and limitless. https://t.co/kOfvIRJOQu https://t.co/pIiZn9LZwT

The partnership also includes Ripple Payments, which DriveWealth intends to utilise to support cross-border fund transfers from international partners. The companies are separately working on digital asset custody for DriveWealth in Europe, although they have not disclosed which assets will be supported or when the service will become available.
DriveWealth and Ripple are also exploring equity-financing opportunities through Ripple Prime’s Delta One business, which operates in US equities and equity derivatives. Details of the possible financing products have not been announced.
DriveWealth supports more than 100 partners globally and has already expanded trading availability to 24 hours a day, five days a week. Its chief executive, Naureen Hassan, stated that the company now requires funding services that can keep pace with extended trading hours, as opposed to forcing clients to wait for traditional banking systems.
Ripple’s senior vice president of stablecoins, Jack McDonald, remarked that discussions initially focused on cross-border settlement but eventually included trading, custody and payments.
The agreement is part of Ripple’s wider effort to expand its services for financial institutions. Recent initiatives have included work on digital asset custody and tokenization with South Korea’s Meritz Securities, wallet infrastructure with Privy, and institutional custody for RLUSD through Standard Chartered’s Dubai branch.
The financial terms of the DriveWealth partnership have not been disclosed. The timing of the planned integrations also remains uncertain.
