Visa has graduated its USDC stablecoin prefunding product from the pilot to the commercial stage, enabling qualifying organizations to make digital dollar-based cross-border payments at any given moment. The solution was introduced in the announcement of October 15, 2026. Initially, payments infrastructure provider Inyo Global became the first entity to offer the service.
As per the publication, the abovementioned companies may utilize the newly established facility to fund transactions in USDC, a stablecoin-backed digital currency, to make near-real-time cross-border payments in lieu of relying on banking hours.
A stablecoin is a cryptocurrency whose value is pegged to a fiat currency, in this case, the US dollar, with minimal fluctuations, unlike Bitcoin or Ethereum. Therefore, businesses that use the Inyo Global platform will be able to hedge against the risks of banking hours when sending payments abroad through a digital dollar.

Inyo Global is a neobank enabler that provides domestic and cross-border payment solutions in more than 180 countries and jurisdictions. Notably, the company has integrated Visa’s stablecoin prefunding facility into its infrastructure, eliminating the need for qualifying organizations to restructure their payment systems.
The newly launched product is the result of Visa’s proof-of-concept programs with respect to stablecoins in 2025, which were aimed at developing the application programming interfaces (APIs) necessary to fund corporate payments through cryptocurrencies. In essence, the company has completed the conceptual stage and has entered the commercialization phase.
The introduction of the facility enables multinational corporations to fund a substantial number of payments throughout the day, eliminating the need to keep significant balances in the accounts to make payments within bank hours. Moreover, it is now possible to transfer money abroad at any time, overcoming the limitations inherent to the banking system.
According to Visa’s statement, the company will use the infrastructure of its payment network, security systems, and compliance tools to accommodate the traffic of dollar-based stablecoins. Nevertheless, the use of this facility will be available to qualifying organizations during the period when the product is available in their respective jurisdictions.
The news comes as the banking sector seeks to digitize payment operations while benefiting from the advantages of distributed ledger technologies. The focus of banks and financial institutions is on stablecoins, which provide the advantages of speed and security while being less volatile compared to other cryptocurrencies.
It is worth noting that Visa’s product does not imply that the company will digitize all payments in stablecoins. However, qualifying organizations will be able to use another method to fund their Visa Direct transactions, in addition to the existing opportunities.
