WisdomTree and financial technology company MoonPay are expanding their work in tokenized funds through a new collaboration focused on the WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund, or WTGXX. The tokenized money market mutual fund is expected to become more accessible to individual investors in the United States through MoonPay’s platform. MoonPay also plans to use WTGXX as part of its stablecoin reserve management.
Under the agreement announced Thursday, WisdomTree is developing an access point for its tokenized funds using MoonPay’s technology and platform. The arrangement could allow WisdomTree to reach investors beyond its existing direct channels and into MoonPay’s wider network.

MoonPay said its network includes more than 35 million accounts and serves over 1,700 partners. However, the announcement does not mean that all of those users will automatically gain access to WTGXX.
WTGXX is a tokenized money market mutual fund focused on Treasury holdings. The companies did not provide performance data or comparative figures as part of the announcement.
MoonPay’s blockchain technology is intended to support the planned access point, while WisdomTree will continue providing the underlying tokenized fund. The companies said the collaboration could eventually support additional tokenized fund opportunities, including products aimed at global markets.
No specific launch date was provided for the new access point. The companies also did not disclose detailed technical specifications or fee structures for the planned integration.
MoonPay said it intends to include WTGXX among the assets used for stablecoin reserve management. However, the announcement did not specify what proportion of its reserves could be allocated to the fund or when that implementation would begin.
The partnership comes as traditional asset managers continue exploring tokenization as a way of putting investment products on blockchain networks. Tokenized funds can represent ownership or interests in conventional financial products through digital tokens, potentially connecting traditional investment products with blockchain-based infrastructure.
WisdomTree has also been in discussions with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission about tokenized funds. On August 12, SEC staff from the agency’s Crypto Task Force met with WisdomTree representatives to discuss the tokenized-fund market, wallet onboarding and potential rulemaking and guidance for tokenized assets.
The SEC’s update did not announce any formal decision or guidance resulting from that meeting. The latest WisdomTree-MoonPay announcement focused on the planned WTGXX access point and MoonPay’s intended use of the fund for reserve management.
For investors, the immediate significance is that a traditional Treasury-focused money market fund is being connected to a crypto-focused financial technology platform. The actual reach of the initiative, however, will depend on the launch of the access point and how investors and institutions use the service.
