The XRP Ledger’s Batch upgrade has been delayed after validator support temporarily fell below the threshold required for activation.
Activation Date Pushed Back To October 9
The upgrade was previously expected to activate on September 29, but the support reset has pushed the earliest possible activation date to October 9, provided the required validator support remains in place.
What The Batch Upgrade Would Allow
Known as BatchV1_1, the upgrade is designed to allow multiple XRP Ledger transactions to be grouped together into a single operation. Users would be able to bundle up to eight transactions, including transactions that require atomic execution.

Atomic transactions allow multiple actions to succeed together or fail together. This could be useful for applications involving tokenized assets, payments and delivery-versus-payment transactions, where an asset transfer and corresponding payment may need to happen simultaneously.
Validator Threshold Explains The Delay
The XRP Ledger’s amendment process requires more than 80% support from trusted validators for two consecutive weeks before an amendment can activate.
According to validator data, the corrected BatchV1_1 amendment regained support from 30 of 35 trusted validators on September 25. That restarted the required activation countdown.
The delay highlights the role of validator consensus in determining when changes can be introduced to the XRP Ledger. Even after an amendment reaches a high level of support, it must maintain the required threshold for the specified period before activation. Another amendment related to Permission Delegation has also experienced a delay, with its earliest activation date moving to October 8.
The Batch upgrade is being closely watched because it could improve how multiple transactions are processed on the XRP Ledger and potentially support more sophisticated financial applications.
If validator support remains above the required level, BatchV1_1 could become active in early October. The development comes as blockchain networks increasingly focus on improving transaction efficiency and supporting tokenized financial assets.
