Bitcoin treasury firm Strive has bought another 2,822 Bitcoin (BTC) for $235 million, shortly after announcing a purchase of 3,311 BTC made last week. The company’s CEO, Matt Cole, shared the latest purchase details in a post on X. With this new addition, Strive’s total Bitcoin holdings have reached 35,595 BTC, making it the fourth-largest Bitcoin treasury company. The company is looking to increase its holdings further and has set its sights on becoming the second-largest Bitcoin treasury firm, behind Strategy, by the end of the year.

The latest purchase comes at a time when Bitcoin is trading within a relatively narrow price range after recovering from lower levels over the past two months.
Strive’s earlier purchase of 3,311 BTC had pushed its total holdings above 30,000 Bitcoin for the first time. It also helped the company move ahead of MARA Holdings in the Bitcoin treasury rankings. With the latest addition, Strive is strengthening its position among companies that hold Bitcoin as a major part of their financial strategy.
Matt Cole has previously expressed his intention to increase the company’s Bitcoin holdings significantly by the end of 2026. He also shared the company’s Bitcoin portfolio tracker on Sunday with the message, “Think ₿igger,” suggesting that Strive wants to expand its holdings further.

However, Strategy continues to lead the market by a wide margin. According to the report, the company bought another 250 BTC last week, taking its total holdings to 848,250 BTC. Other major Bitcoin treasury firms, including Metaplanet and Twenty One Capital, are also part of the competition to build larger Bitcoin reserves.
Interestingly, Strive’s latest purchase did not lead to an immediate rise in its share price. Its stock, traded under the ticker ASST, was around $27 and had fallen by more than 2% at the time of reporting, according to TradingView data. The stock had also declined over the previous five days.
Despite this short-term weakness, Strive’s shares have performed strongly in 2026. The stock was up more than 81% since the beginning of the year and had gained over 118% in the previous three months, according to the figures provided in the report.
Strive’s growing Bitcoin reserve shows how some companies are using the cryptocurrency as a long-term treasury asset. However, buying more Bitcoin does not guarantee that a company’s stock price will rise. Its performance can depend on Bitcoin’s price movements, investor confidence and the company’s overall financial position.
For now, Strive is continuing to build its Bitcoin holdings as it aims to climb higher in the treasury rankings. Whether it can reach the second position by the end of the year will depend on its future purchases and the strategies followed by its competitors.
