  • A 12-month Memorandum of Understanding was inked by Flowra and KorDA to investigate gold-backed funding for Solana validators.
  • SOL for validator delegation may be obtained using KGLD as collateral. SOL could be sent to qualified Solana validators under the planned Flowra-KorDA Delegation Program (FKDP).
  • Block-engine and transaction-ordering technologies are among the Solana infrastructure that Flowra will supply.

Flowra Ltd. and Korea Gold Exchange Digital Asset Co. (KorDA) have signed a 12-month memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore a new model that could connect tokenized gold with Solana validator infrastructure.

Flowra Ltd. Is a company that builds blockchain infrastructure for Solana. In this plan, Flowra will give us tools, like Open Orderflow Auction (OOA), Programmable Block Policy (PBP) and block-engine infrastructure.

Korea Gold Exchange Digital Asset Co. (KorDA) is a fintech and digital-asset firm linked to KGLD, a gold-backed asset. According to the MOU, KorDA will manage validator operations, including servers, monitoring and key management.

The proposed arrangement would examine whether KGLD, a gold-backed digital asset, could be used as collateral to obtain SOL. The SOL could then be delegated to eligible Solana validators through a proposed Flowra-KorDA Delegation Program.

The agreement is currently focused on feasibility. It does not launch a validator financing product or guarantee that the proposed structure will go live.

KGLD Could Serve As Collateral For SOL

Under the model being explored, KGLD could be pledged as collateral to secure SOL. The SOL would potentially be delegated to qualifying Solana validators using infrastructure provided by Flowra. If implemented, the structure could give a tokenized real-world asset a new role in supporting blockchain infrastructure.

However, several details remain under review. These include collateral requirements, financing terms, custody arrangements, and the legal treatment of transactions involving KGLD. The companies said any future transactions would be subject to due diligence, legal review, and separate agreements.

Flowra & KorDA Plan Validator Delegation Program

The two companies are also evaluating a potential Flowra-KorDA Delegation Program (FKDP). Under the proposed program, SOL could be sourced from the Solana Foundation, crypto exchanges, institutional investors, lending providers, and large SOL holders.

The assets could then be delegated to validators that meet the program’s requirements. Validator selection criteria, delegation terms, and the distribution of staking-related revenue have yet to be finalized.

Different Roles For Flowra & KorDA

Flowra would provide Solana infrastructure for the proposed model, including its Open Orderflow Auction (OOA), Programmable Block Policy (PBP), and block-engine technology.

KorDA would oversee validator operations, including server infrastructure, monitoring, and key management. The companies would also work together on validator selection and the management of delegated SOL and related revenues.

KGLD Would Remain Separate From Flowra

Flowra said it would not custody KGLD under the proposed structure. If the model moves forward the collateral could be held by a custodian or through an escrow arrangement or, in a multisignature wallet. The final structure will depend on reviews, regulatory reviews and operational reviews.

Gold-backed Assets Expand Across Crypto

The MOU comes as gold-backed digital assets gain new applications across blockchain networks.

Paxos launched PAXG on Solana in June 2026, while Tether and Fasset explored gold-backed payment applications through a Visa card initiative.

Unlike those projects, the Flowra-KorDA proposal focuses on using tokenized gold as potential collateral for obtaining SOL to support validator infrastructure.
