- Kraken Prime will be used by SoFi as an extra source of liquidity for cryptocurrency transactions.
Digital banking platform SoFi and cryptocurrency exchange Kraken are joining forces to connect traditional banking infrastructure with digital asset markets.
Under the agreement, Payward, the parent company of Kraken, will join SoFi’s SoFi Exchange Network (SEN). The move will allow Kraken’s institutional clients to move U.S. dollars and manage liquidity around the clock, helping reduce the delays typically associated with traditional banking hours.
Kraken will also list SoFiUSD, SoFi’s bank-issued stablecoin, while SoFi plans to use Kraken Prime as an additional source of liquidity for cryptocurrency trades made through its platform.

SoFi also highlighted the partnership on X stressing the move toward 24/7 banking infrastructure for asset markets. SoFi said the agreement with Payward will allow real‑time USD settlement for clients, through the SoFi Exchange Network and it will also list SoFiUSD on Kraken Prime.
SoFi Expands Its Crypto & Banking Strategy
SoFi has been expanding its presence in digital assets after bringing crypto trading back to its platform. The company also launched SoFiUSD, a dollar-backed stablecoin designed to support digital payments and blockchain-based financial activity.
The fintech has continued building its business banking infrastructure as well. Its Big Business Banking offering brings enterprise banking and digital asset services together, while SEN provides businesses with an always-on network for moving U.S. dollars.
By connecting SEN with Kraken’s crypto infrastructure, SoFi can strengthen the link between its banking services and cryptocurrency markets.
For SoFi customers, Kraken Prime could provide another source of liquidity when executing crypto trades. At the same time, the listing of SoFiUSD on Kraken gives the stablecoin exposure to the exchange’s retail, professional, and institutional users.
Kraken Moves Deeper Into Traditional Finance
For Kraken, the partnership gives access to banking infrastructure that can support cryptocurrency activity all day long. Kraken is moving beyond its role as a cryptocurrency exchange, adding services in trading, payments, derivatives and other financial products. Its relationship with SoFi adds another connection between crypto markets and traditional financial rails.
SoFi CEO Anthony Noto said financial infrastructure should continue operating even when markets remain open outside conventional banking hours.
The companies also indicated that the relationship could expand into areas such as payments, treasury management, lending, and other digital asset services.
