The announcement was published by Avalanche on September 14 and named the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) and Dubai-based advisory firm Deca4 as the parties involved in the integration.
However, neither TDRA nor Deca4 had publicly confirmed the arrangement at the time of writing. Avalanche also did not disclose whether the integration is already operating in production or remains under development.
UAE PASS Digital Vault Expands Blockchain Use
UAE PASS is the digital identity and electronic signature platform of the UAE. It helps citizens, residents and visitors to prove who they are and use government and private sector services with one identity.
The platform now has more than 12 million people who have signed up, according to recent reports. The Digital Vault lets users get, keep and share government papers like certificates, licenses and permits.
The vault was already said to use blockchain technology before the Avalanche announcement.
UAE government information says blockchain technology is used to help secure and verify documents.
Avalanche has not explained whether its infrastructure will replace existing blockchain systems or operate alongside them.
Avalanche Integration Details Remain Unclear
The announcement does not specify which Avalanche network will support the Digital Vault. It is also not clear if the deployment will use the C-Chain, a dedicated Avalanche Layer 1 network or some other setup. The companies have not said whether the actual documents will be stored on the blockchain or if only cryptographic hashes will be recorded for verification.
More information, such as what validators will do, where data will be kept, who holds the keys, and how much the contract is worth. When the project will go live has not been shared either. Those details matter because a blockchain system used to verify document integrity is different from putting sensitive identity information directly on a public blockchain.
AVAX Price Today
AVAX is trading around $7.55, based on current market data. The token has recently traded below the $8 level, while the UAE PASS announcement adds another potential government and enterprise use case for Avalanche.
The price movement itself does not confirm that the UAE PASS integration is live.
