  • BitGo links Hyperliquid perpetuals with self-custody wallets. Hyperliquid can be traded by qualified BitGo users without the need to create a new wallet.
  • WalletConnect makes it possible to integrate BitGo and Hyperliquid securely. Wallet approval requirements are still in place for BitGo users.
  • Repeated BitGo signatures are not necessary for hyperliquid trading.

BitGo has enabled eligible self-custody hot wallet clients to connect directly to Hyperliquid, giving institutional users access to perpetual markets without creating a separate wallet or adding a new approval process for trading.

BitGo Holdings, Inc., a digital asset infrastructure provider, announced the integration on September 10, 2026. The connection allows eligible clients to link their existing BitGo self-custody hot wallets with Hyperliquid through WalletConnect.

The integration is designed to simplify access to Hyperliquid perpetual markets while keeping existing wallet controls in place. After completing a one-time activation, clients can place, modify, and close orders without requiring a new BitGo wallet signature for every trade.

BitGo Brings Self-custody Controls To Hyperliquid Trading

The integration separates trading activity from transactions that require movement of funds. Deposits and withdrawals that require a BitGo wallet transaction continue to follow the wallet’s configured approval policies, including multi-user approval requirements where applicable.

Once funds are available for trading on Hyperliquid, users can manage their positions without repeatedly returning to BitGo for transaction approval. They also do not need to make a separate on-chain gas payment for each order, although Hyperliquid trading fees and other applicable charges still apply.

WalletConnect establishes the connection between the BitGo wallet and Hyperliquid while keeping private keys protected. BitGo said the feature is currently available to eligible existing self-custody hot wallet clients.

However, access is restricted in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other jurisdictions where leveraged digital asset derivatives are restricted.

Integration Limited To Self-custody Hot Wallets

BitGo said the Hyperliquid integration builds on its existing self-custody wallet infrastructure. The feature does not change the approval controls applied to transactions that move assets out of the wallet.

The integration is also limited to self-custody hot wallets and does not extend to BitGo’s qualified custody offerings. The company did not provide additional eligibility requirements beyond the geographic restrictions.

The move gives eligible institutional clients a way to access Hyperliquid perpetual markets while maintaining their existing wallet approval setup, potentially reducing friction around frequent trading activity.

BitGo Korea Secures VASP Registration

The Hyperliquid announcement follows a separate development in South Korea. BitGo Korea recently received acceptance of its Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration from the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit.

The registration allows BitGo Korea to provide virtual asset custody and transfer services to institutional clients in the country. Strategic shareholders include Hana Financial Group and SK Telecom.
