  • BlackRock and other Wall Street behemoths are in discussions with Bitget to investigate prospects for digital asset distribution throughout Asia.
  • Distribution channels in Asian markets might increase the exposure of BlackRock’s tokenized ETFs and digital asset products.
  • As of June 2025, Asia’s crypto-asset transactions had increased 69% year over year, demonstrating the region’s increasing significance to the worldwide cryptocurrency economy.

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget is having talks with big Wall Street financial companies as it wants to grow the way digital assets are shared across Asia, according to CEO Gracy Chen.

Speaking to CoinDesk, Chen said BlackRock, the asset manager in the world, is one of the companies Bitget is talking to about possible ways to share tokenized exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the area.

“I am talking to all the Wall Street companies to find out what they are thinking and how we might work together “, Chen said. She also mentioned that Bitget has been in contact with BlackRock about sharing in Asian markets.

A BlackRock spokesperson confirmed that BlackRock’s crypto exchange‑traded products are already available in Asia. BlackRock also said that BlackRock regularly engages with participants across the asset ecosystem, though BlackRock declined to comment on specific expansion plans.

Tokenized Assets Gain Momentum Across Asian Markets

The discussions come as Asia continues to strengthen its position in the cryptocurrency market. An OECD report showed that blockchain-based crypto-asset transactions in Asia increased 69% year over year as of June 2025, representing the growth rate among global regions.

The trend could create opportunities for asset managers seeking to bring tokenized funds and other digital investment products to a wider investor base.

BlackRock has already expanded its presence in the digital asset sector. The company manages $15.3 trillion in client assets and has introduced new blockchain-based money market offerings as part of its tokenization strategy.

The asset manager has also been increasing its focus on Asia. During Consensus Hong Kong 2026, BlackRock executive Nicholas Peach said that even a 1% allocation of Asian household wealth to crypto could potentially generate nearly $2 trillion in new inflows.

BlackRock further strengthened its regional strategy in December by creating a new digital assets role in Singapore focused on identifying opportunities across Asia.

Bitget Targets A Broader Investor Base

Bitget’s large user base could make the exchange an attractive distribution channel for traditional asset managers entering the digital asset market.

Chen said Bitget has 125 million registered users worldwide, with around half located in East and Southeast Asia. She also noted that 52% of Bitget users, based on the company’s Q1 2026 data, already hold both cryptocurrencies and traditional stocks.

This overlap highlights a changing investment landscape where investors increasingly view crypto and traditional assets as part of the same portfolio.
