World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture backed by the Trump family, funded a $250,000 fighter bonus pool at UFC Freedom 250 and paid the rewards with its USD1 stablecoin.
The event, held on the White House South Lawn, was a high-profile showcase for the digital asset and showed the growing link between cryptocurrency and big sports events.
The UFC said World Liberty Financial was an official partner of the event and sponsored the Performance of the Night bonuses. The rewards were paid in USD1, a dollar-backed stablecoin from the company.
Reports say top fighters got payouts up to $425,000. These bonuses were separate from another crypto reward pool funded by Crypto.com.
World Liberty Financial co-founder Zach Witkoff said using USD1 shows how digital dollars can move faster and more efficiently than regular banks.
USD1 is backed by U.S. Treasuries and cash, and its market cap is about $4.4 billion. The stablecoin works on several blockchains, including Ethereum and Solana.
The White House event gave a lot of attention to both USD1 and the stablecoin sector. As crypto companies keep moving into sports sponsorships, this partnership shows how digital assets are becoming part of mainstream entertainment and payments.
