U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno says the CLARITY Act, which focuses on crypto, could reach President Donald Trump for signing before July 4. This shows that major crypto legislation is gaining momentum in the U.S.
In a video shared by Solana Labs, Moreno praised Trump’s support for the crypto industry and said lawmakers are making real progress on digital asset regulation. He pointed out that after passing the GENIUS Act, they are now getting ready to move forward with the CLARITY Act in the Senate.
The Senate markup schedule hasn’t been announced yet, but experts expect talks to start later this month. Moreno admitted that several committees are involved, which makes things more complicated, but he’s still confident the bill can move quickly.
Prediction markets also show growing optimism about the legislation, with approval odds recently reaching as high as 69% before dropping a bit.
Industry analysts think the timing is politically important before the upcoming midterm elections. Alex Thorn warned that changes in Senate leadership could shift the direction of crypto regulation, especially if more skeptical lawmakers gain influence.
Meanwhile, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott said the bill is now in the “red zone,” meaning lawmakers are getting close to a key stage in the legislative process.
