The development team behind John McAfee’s Ghost cryptocurrency project has announced that it is pausing its planned integration with the Cardano blockchain and will instead focus on building its ecosystem on Polygon. The update was shared through the project’s official social media channels, where the team revealed plans to prioritize the development of a seamless two-way bridge on Polygon. The reason behind the sudden strategic shift was not officially disclosed.
The decision sparked mixed reactions within the crypto community, especially among Cardano supporters who believed the blockchain offered strong staking and decentralization features. Despite the criticism, the Ghost team stated that Polygon’s infrastructure and scalability aligned better with its immediate development goals. The move reflects the growing competition among blockchain networks seeking to attract developers and ecosystem projects.
Ghost was originally launched by late cybersecurity pioneer John McAfee in 2020 as a privacy-focused cryptocurrency project linked to the broader “GhostbyMcAfee” ecosystem. Even after McAfee’s death in 2021, the project has continued operating and expanding under its existing development team. The latest migration toward Polygon highlights how blockchain projects continue adapting their strategies based on network performance, scalability, and ecosystem growth opportunities.
