Robinhood has taken equity stakes in Crypto.com and its newly separated prediction market platform OG.com as part of a multi-year partnership to expand its prediction markets business. Under the deal, Robinhood will use OG.com’s regulated infrastructure to offer event contracts to eligible US customers, with the rollout beginning Tuesday.
The contracts will be routed through OG.com’s derivatives exchange and clearinghouse, which are regulated by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Robinhood will receive initial stakes in both companies, although the size and value of its holdings have not been disclosed.
Prediction markets need serious market infrastructure behind them.

The stakes will be priced using valuations established through an earlier investment by Citadel Securities. The agreement follows the spin-off of OG.com from Crypto.com at a valuation of $5 billion and comes less than two months after reports that Robinhood was discussing an expansion of its prediction markets offering with Crypto.com.
OG.com will operate independently from Crypto.com. CEO Kris Marszalek has said the new platform plans to go beyond prediction markets and eventually expand into futures and perpetual contracts.

For Robinhood, prediction markets are becoming an increasingly important business. The online brokerage launched its prediction markets hub in March 2025 through a partnership with CFTC-regulated exchange Kalshi and later expanded its infrastructure.
The business has grown quickly. Event contracts generated $156 million in revenue for Robinhood during the second quarter, more than ten times the amount recorded a year earlier. That was also higher than its $129 million in equities transaction revenue and $100 million generated from crypto transactions during the quarter.
Analysts at Bernstein estimated in July that Robinhood’s revenue from prediction markets and related activities could reach $1.7 billion by 2028.
However, the fast-growing prediction market industry is facing legal challenges in the US. Several states are seeking to apply gambling laws to sports-related event contracts, even when those products are offered through CFTC-regulated platforms.
A Nevada judge in April extended a ban preventing Kalshi from offering event contracts in the state without a gaming licence. More recently, New Jersey asked the US Supreme Court to decide whether states can regulate sports contracts offered by federally regulated prediction markets.
The Robinhood-OG.com partnership therefore comes at a time when investor interest in prediction markets is growing rapidly, but questions over how these products should be regulated remain unresolved.
