Robinhood Chain is experiencing a sharp slowdown in transaction activity, with daily transactions falling 42% from mid-September levels even as deposits remain above $1 billion and the brokerage continues covering certain network fees for customers.
Transactions & Active Addresses Drop Sharply
According to data from growthepie, the network averaged 6.2 million daily transactions between October 2 and October 8, 2026, compared with 10.8 million from September 10 to September 16. Activity also declined 20% from the preceding week. Daily active addresses fell 31%, indicating that the slowdown extends beyond transaction counts.
🔴 Robinhood Chain transactions plunge 42% as network slowdown deepens
Daily transactions on Robinhood Chain fell to 6.2 million for Oct. 2–8, down from 10.8 million in mid-September. Daily active addresses dropped 31% to 322,000. Weekly spot trading volume fell 21% to $7.45 billion, though deposits held steady above $1 billion and perpetual futures volume rose 26%.
Network fee revenue collapsed to $65,000 daily, down 39% week-over-week and a fraction of the $8 million peak in early September. Robinhood launched the chain in July for token trading and lending on Ethereum.

Weekly spot trading volume decreased 21% to $7.45 billion. However, the picture was not uniformly negative: deposits remained above $1 billion, while perpetual futures trading volume increased 26%.
Robinhood launched its blockchain in July to allow users to trade tokens and access borrowing and lending applications connected to Ethereum. The company has also outlined plans for round-the-clock trading of tokens linked to stocks and funds.
Fee Revenue At Stake As Robinhood Offers Incentives
Network transactions generate fees, while applications operating on the chain may charge separate fees for trades and loans. According to a Bernstein note, Robinhood retains roughly nine-tenths of network fees. A sustained reduction in transactions could therefore affect the fees the company collects.
we are currently seeing a slight pullback but pullbacks are always necessary for further growth
the average number of daily transactions on Robinhood Chain is down 42% compared to mid-September
average active addresses are also down 31%, network fees by 39%, and DEX trading volume by 21%

To encourage activity, Robinhood is continuing to cover network fees on eligible token swaps worth more than 50 cents through December 31. The measure reduces the direct network-fee burden on customers conducting qualifying swaps, although its effect on overall activity remains to be seen.
Mixed Signals Leave Outlook Uncertain
The data shows an evident discrepancy between different measures of activity: while spot trading and transactions have declined, deposits are considerable and perpetual futures volume is up. This doesn’t tell us what causes the decrease, and it doesn’t say if it will continue.
The coming weeks will show whether fee support and continued product development can stabilise transaction activity on Robinhood Chain. For now, the figures highlight the challenge of sustaining engagement on a recently launched blockchain as trading behaviour and application usage evolve.
