  • Pi Network has launched Protocol 25, requiring Mainnet node operators to complete the upgrade before the June 18 deadline.
  • The Protocol 25 rollout follows the successful Protocol 23 migration, which Pi Network described as one of its most complex infrastructure upgrades.
  • Most Mainnet nodes successfully upgraded to Protocol 23 in May, marking a major milestone in Pi Network’s ongoing development.

Pi Network has announced that all Mainnet node operators must upgrade to Protocol 25 by June 18 to remain connected to the network. The upgrade is part of the project’s ongoing effort to strengthen its blockchain infrastructure as Mainnet development continues.

Pi Network is a blockchain-based cryptocurrency platform that aims to build a decentralized digital ecosystem where Pi can be used for payments, applications, and online services, and the latest migration represents another step toward that goal.

The network’s live Mainnet allows users who have completed Know Your Customer (KYC) verification to transfer their Pi balances from the mobile app and participate in the broader ecosystem.

By requiring node operators to adopt Protocol 25, Pi Network is seeking to improve network stability while supporting the continued expansion of its decentralized infrastructure.

The Pi Core Team warned that the upgrade process would take longer than prior migrations in an official notice released on June 9 and advised node operators to make appropriate plans. “All Mainnet nodes must finish this step before the deadline in order to remain connected to the network. The crew stated that it takes longer to finish this improvement.

Protocol 23 Success Paves Way For Protocol 25

The Core Team stressed that the update is an additional step in securing the network’s architecture as Mainnet development proceeds, even if Pi Network did not offer comprehensive technical details regarding the upgrade.

The Protocol 23 migration, which Pi Network previously referred to as one of the most difficult infrastructure updates in the project’s history, was successfully completed before the Protocol 25 launch.

An important milestone in the network’s continuous development was reached in May when the Pi Core Team verified that most Mainnet nodes had successfully switched to Protocol 23.

The most recent update indicates that Pi is carrying out its planned strategy to enhance decentralization, scalability, and stability throughout its blockchain ecosystem.

Pi Nodes Must Upgrade To Protocol 25 Soon

Pi Network has frequently referred to its development strategy as “progressive decentralization,” which progressively increases community involvement in network operations while preserving stability throughout the expansion stage.

Participants interested in running nodes are assessed based on a number of criteria, including uptime, internet dependability, hardware performance, security circles, and general trust metrics within the Pi ecosystem, according to the project’s node documentation. As Pi continues to get ready for wider network engagement, the Protocol 25 migration is another step in fortifying that infrastructure.

The most recent update comes as Pi Network keeps growing its node infrastructure and Mainnet ecosystem. Node operators are anticipated to finish the migration in the upcoming days as the June 18 deadline draws near, guaranteeing ongoing involvement in Pi Network’s expanding decentralized infrastructure.
