Ondo Finance is once again expanding what’s possible with tokenization, this time by bringing a unique Wall Street income product to the blockchain. The company has turned Strategy Inc.’s STRC preferred stock into a token, giving crypto investors access to a product with an 11.5% annual yield, paid monthly.
STRC is different because of how it works. Unlike regular preferred stocks, its dividend rate changes to keep the price close to $100. If the price drops, the yield goes up to attract buyers. If the price rises too much, the yield goes down. This creates a stable asset with a high income.
By offering STRC tokens on Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana, Ondo is making a complex financial product available to people worldwide. Investors do not own the stock directly but get similar benefits through a blockchain setup that tracks its price and payments.
This step is part of a broader trend in which traditional finance and decentralized technology are coming together. STRC’s yield, which is indirectly supported by Strategy’s large Bitcoin holdings, connects crypto investors with more traditional income products.
The timing matters. Most DeFi yields are below 5%, and ETH staking returns are under 3%, so an 11.5% yield is eye-catching. The main question is whether crypto investors will move into these tokenized assets in large numbers, potentially changing how yield is generated in digital assets.
