According to DefiLlama statistics, Kalshi had a record-breaking June trading volume of about $9.4 billion as the 2026 FIFA World Cup fueled activity throughout prediction markets. From around $5.3 billion in May, that was an increase.
Additionally, Polymarket International increased from around $3.5 billion a month ago to about $4.3 billion. Launched on June 11, the competition is the first FIFA World Cup with 48 teams, compared to 32 in previous iterations.
According to CNBC, Dune Analytics revealed record notional trading volumes on Kalshi and Polymarket in June, making rivalry the primary driver of prediction market trading.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 officially partnered with the firm in late June, which was one of the biggest mainstream alliances for a regulated prediction market platform.
The collaboration introduced regulated event contracts to a wider worldwide audience while solidifying Kalshi’s standing as one of the industry’s fastest-growing companies.
