Israel’s Bank Leumi has partnered with Galaxy Digital to offer customers trading in Bitcoin, Ether and Solana, with the service expected to launch in early 2027. The bank said customers of Leumi and its mobile banking arm Pepper will be able to buy, hold and sell the three cryptocurrencies through a dedicated section of the Leumi Trade app. The partnership is expected to make Leumi the first Israeli bank to offer digital asset trading services directly to its customers. Galaxy will provide the trading and infrastructure technology supporting the service.

The partnership marks another step in the growing connection between traditional banks and the crypto market. Instead of sending customers to a separate crypto exchange, Leumi plans to make digital assets available through its existing investment platform.

Galaxy will provide trading and related services through GalaxyOne Institutional. Its digital asset custody infrastructure, previously known as GK8, will also support Leumi’s digital asset operations.

For customers, the arrangement is designed to make buying and selling crypto more similar to trading traditional financial assets. Bitcoin, Ether and Solana will initially be available, giving investors access to three of the most widely followed digital assets through a familiar banking environment.

Leumi serves millions of customers across its retail and business operations. Bringing crypto trading to such a large customer base could therefore give digital assets a significant new channel into the Israeli financial system.

The deal comes at an interesting time for Galaxy. The company reported an $85 million net loss for the second quarter, with declining digital asset prices contributing significantly to the result. However, its digital assets business remained profitable on an adjusted basis, generating $66 million in adjusted gross profit, a 34% increase from the previous quarter.

Galaxy was founded and is led by Mike Novogratz. The company began trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker GLXY in May 2025. Its shares were trading at $21.38 on Friday morning, up around 2% on the day but down roughly 25% over the past year, according to the figures provided.

The partnership with Leumi also highlights Galaxy’s broader strategy. The company is not only operating in crypto trading but is increasingly providing infrastructure and services that traditional financial institutions can use to enter the digital asset market.

For Bank Leumi, the move could help it respond to growing customer interest in cryptocurrencies without requiring customers to move their investment activity to an outside exchange.

The planned early-2027 launch is still some time away, and the service will depend on the necessary regulatory and operational arrangements. But the announcement itself is significant. A major Israeli bank moving into direct crypto trading shows how digital assets are gradually becoming part of the wider financial services landscape.
