Go, Went, Gone: Goa To Have World’s First Fully-Equipped Web3 Ecosystem

By Manoj Dharra

Goa, known for its unending coastlines, pristine beaches, casinos on the high sea, and a rocking nightlife, is all set for an image makeover by adding to its reputation of being the choice destination for Sun, sea, and sand, the first fully equipped WEB3 ecosystem of the world.

The world’s first integrated emerging tech state, powered by blockchain and Web 3 technologies, will be a reality this November, a move that will impact not just the state and nation but the entire world.

“Our vision is to include efficiency by implementing Web3 and blockchain technology in all relevant government functions, developing and facilitating a robust ecosystem for startups, companies, and emerging as a global thought leader in the field of Web3 and blockchain technology. We have already begun our work,” Raj Kapoor, Founder, India Blockchain Alliance, told 3.0 TV.

It would be a live example of an environmentally sustainable, inclusive blockchain enabled ecosystem planned for all socio-economic strata, with innovative technology, infrastructure and efficient management.

WEB 3 on the high sea

“We will bring together private and public sectors to start imagining how Web3 could be used leading to the creation of the Goa Web3 and blockchain strategy and then strategising for realising the national Web3 and blockchain ecosystem,” said Raj Kapoor, who added that the project will be based on three pillars.

  1. Leveraging Web3 to improve government efficiency
  2. Establishing Goa as an international leader and preferred destination in this space
  3. Supporting the creation of new industries based around Web3

The move will position Goa as an emerging-tech capital of the world and a global thought leader in the Web3 space as a technology destination. With this, Goa will have international Web3 knowledge centres and global technology development hubs, a framework that would turn “vacation into workation.”

Raj Kapoor, who is a blockchain influencer and 6 times Tedx speaker, believes the main objective is to make Goa the preferred Web3 destination globally, to create jobs and provide livelihood opportunities to Indian techies as well as the locals.
