- Samsung has launched its Stablecoin Account feature in the US, allowing eligible Galaxy users to buy, hold and transfer USDC on Solana.

- Bastion and Coinbase will manage the stablecoin infrastructure and custody arrangements.
US Galaxy Users Can Now Use USDC
Samsung has launched its Stablecoin Account in its Wallet app, letting Galaxy smartphone owners in the US eligible to buy, store and send USDC on the Solana blockchain. This means they can take advantage of stablecoins without having to download a cryptocurrency app or worry about private keys.
The feature was announced by Samsung back on October 7th and was expected to be rolled out later in the month. Around 82 million Galaxy devices in the US are eligible for this feature.

To use it you need to be 18 years old or over, have a Samsung Account and an eligible Galaxy device running Android 13 or higher. However, it isn’t available to those in New York.
This is a key part in getting stablecoins into the hands of average smartphone users. Samsung wants to make things as easy as possible when sending digital currency.
Send Money Internationally
USDC can be sent to other Samsung Wallet users and compatible external wallets. There will be no fees from Samsung. Money can also be sent to eligible bank accounts in over 60 different countries. Depending on where you’re sending it to, the recipient can get money in their local currency. However, the fees will depend on your destination.
This makes it easier to send money internationally. As stablecoins like USDC are pegged to the US dollar, they’re often used to send money.
Lily Liu, president of the Solana Foundation, stated “Stablecoins have already proven that this technology works, but getting it into the hands of everyday users remains a huge challenge.”
Bastion And Coinbase Manage The Service
Samsung has partnered with Bastion and Coinbase to manage this service. Bastion will provide the infrastructure for the Stablecoin Account and sending money. Coinbase will act as sub-custodian to manage the USDC.
Samsung has a relationship with Coinbase already. In October 2025 they expanded their partnership so US Galaxy users could top up their Coinbase accounts using Samsung Pay.
Samsung also plans to look into using stablecoins for online and in-store payments. They may also look into expanding this service to other markets depending on local regulations.
They believe stablecoins will help make international payments easier and quicker. By putting USDC directly into Samsung Wallet they want to make it easier for those unfamiliar with crypto platforms to send crypto.
