Empery Digital, a Bitcoin treasury firm, raised over $87.1 million by selling 1,400 BTC at an average price of about $62,200 each.
The deal comes after the business recently declared that it will invest $65 million to purchase a 25% share in a consortium that is transforming an industrial site in the Midwest into an AI data center.
During the 2025 digital asset boom, Empery was one of several publicly listed companies that used the Bitcoin treasury strategy, building up substantial Bitcoin reserves as part of their corporate balance sheets.
However, due to shifting market conditions, several businesses using similar tactics have since seen dropping share prices. The most recent sale demonstrates a move away from storing Bitcoin solely as a long-term treasury investment and toward utilizing reserves to fund strategic corporate development. The action is indicative of changing business strategies for managing digital assets.
