Cronos is the first blockchain to simultaneously launch native USDC, EURC, and Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), expanding its regulated stablecoin infrastructure ahead of the Cronos App launch later this year. This integration enables users to transfer assets across over 20 blockchain networks and trade cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks, and prediction markets from a single account funded with native USDC.
Cronos states that native USDC will serve as the primary settlement currency for its new trading platform, allowing users to trade multiple asset classes from a single balance. The platform will also support EURC, Circle’s regulated euro-backed stablecoin, offering both U.S. dollar and euro settlement options.
With Circle’s CCTP, users can transfer USDC between supported blockchains without using wrapped tokens or third-party bridges, enhancing security and efficiency.
During the transition, existing bridged USDC will remain available as USDC.e, while liquidity gradually moves to native USDC issued directly by Circle.
Cronos stated that the expanded infrastructure will support decentralized finance applications, institutional payments, cross-chain settlement, AI-driven financial services, and regulated fiat on- and off-ramps via Circle Mint.
This rollout also prepares the network for the Cronos App, a mobile-first platform expected to launch in over 183 countries. Users will be able to trade cryptocurrencies, tokenized equities, and prediction markets with up to 10x buying power, with all transactions settling in native USDC.
This launch aligns with Circle’s broader strategy to expand regulated stablecoin infrastructure globally and strengthen cross-chain interoperability for both retail and institutional users.
