CMB International Securities, the investment arm of China Merchants Bank, has rolled out a 24/7 regulated cryptocurrency trading platform in Hong Kong. The service, currently limited to professional investors, enables trading in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether via the firm’s mobile app.

The launch marks the first around-the-clock crypto trading service offered by a bank-owned securities firm under Hong Kong’s regulatory framework. Transactions are governed by the Securities and Futures Ordinance and the recently enacted Stablecoin Ordinance of August 2025. Investors must complete full KYC and AML checks before accessing the platform.

Trading operations are powered by a partnership with OKX Planet, ensuring smooth execution even during peak market volatility. The system includes cold wallet storage, multiple security protocols, and independent third-party audits, meeting Hong Kong’s high compliance standards.

Industry observers see the launch as a significant milestone in Hong Kong’s ambition to become a global center for digital finance, bridging traditional banking with virtual assets.
