Kalshi now offers CFTC-regulated Hyperliquid (HYPE) perpetual futures trading in the United States. This expands the range of regulated crypto derivatives available in the country. U.S. users can trade HYPE perpetual contracts with no fees for a limited time after launch.
This approval is important because perpetual futures were mostly available on offshore crypto exchanges before. With Kalshi’s regulated platform, U.S. traders can now access these products under the oversight of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
This launch follows Kalshi’s recent introduction of perpetual futures for Solana and XRP under its “American Perpetuals” brand. The company also plans to add more products tied to DOGE, LINK, LTC, SUI, DOT, and other digital assets.
Hyperliquid and Kalshi have collaborated on infrastructure projects, including Hyperliquid’s HIP-4 upgrade. Their partnership has made it easier for the two platforms to connect.
Investors responded with strong interest after the announcement. HYPE’s price rose by over 10%, and open interest in Hyperliquid futures increased significantly. For a short period, the token even surpassed XRP in total futures open interest, highlighting high demand from traders.
This launch indicates that more institutions are accepting crypto derivatives. It could also serve as a model for future regulated perpetual futures products in the U.S.
