Canary Capital has launched the Canary Staked TRX ETF in the US under the ticker TRXS, giving investors exposure to TRON’s native TRX token through a traditional brokerage account. The product is designed to hold TRX while also staking the tokens to earn additional rewards. It is the first US exchange-traded fund tied to TRON that incorporates staking into its investment strategy. TRXS is listed on Cboe, offering investors access to TRX without requiring them to directly purchase, hold or stake the cryptocurrency themselves.

The ETF’s primary objective is to track the value of its TRX holdings after expenses and liabilities. Its secondary objective is to earn additional TRX through staking. Canary expects to stake substantially all of the TRX held by the trust.

The staking structure allows the fund to retain 80% of the rewards generated, while staking fees are capped at 20%. The rewards retained by the fund are included in its daily net asset value, allowing the staking income to become part of the ETF’s value rather than being distributed separately to investors.

Canary’s August filing set the fund’s annual sponsor fee at 1.10% of its TRX holdings. The fee accrues daily and can be paid monthly in either TRX or cash.

BitGo Bank & Trust is the custodian for the fund’s TRX, while US Bank handles its cash. US Bancorp Fund Services provides administrative, accounting and transfer-agent services.

TRON has become closely associated with stablecoin payments, particularly USDT transactions. According to data cited in the source material, the network processed $2.1 trillion in USDT transfers during the second quarter of 2026. Its stablecoin market capitalisation reached $89.2 billion during the quarter, with USDT accounting for about 98.5% of that total.

TRON founder Justin Sun said the ETF gives institutional investors another way to access a network already being used for financial activity. Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg similarly pointed to TRON’s role in digital-asset payments and settlement.

TRX had a market capitalisation of roughly $32.1 billion when the ETF was announced, placing it eighth among cryptocurrencies by market value, according to the source material.

Canary Capital has launched several other cryptocurrency investment products, including ETFs linked to XRP, Litecoin and Hedera’s HBAR. The asset manager has also filed for products connected to other digital assets.

The launch of TRXS gives US investors a new route into TRON while combining cryptocurrency exposure with staking income. It also reflects the growing effort by asset managers to bring blockchain-based assets and their underlying network activity into traditional investment products.
