Bybit Expands Real-world Asset Strategy With Tokenized Bond Funds

Crypto exchange Bybit is expanding further into tokenized real-world assets by giving customers access to bond funds managed by PIMCO and China Merchants Bank International (CMBI). This launch is another sign of traditional finance and blockchain technology coming together.

The new products are available on Bybit’s RWA Earn platform and include the PIMCO Dynamic Income Opportunities Fund and the CMBI Investment Grade Bond Fund. Both funds give investors access to fixed-income assets like government bonds, corporate debt, and other credit instruments.

The products are tokenized through DigiFT, a regulated digital asset exchange in Singapore and Hong Kong, with Plume providing blockchain support for subscriptions and fund allocations. Eligible users can subscribe using USDC without any subscription or redemption fees.

Bybit’s move comes as tokenized real-world assets are getting more attention in financial markets. Industry data shows this sector is already worth billions, with tokenized Treasury products making up the biggest share.

Supporters say tokenization can make traditional assets easier to access, more efficient, and more transparent. Putting investment products on blockchain networks could speed up settlements, improve liquidity, and open up markets to more people.

This trend is drawing in major institutions. Traditional financial firms are looking into blockchain-based versions of money market funds, bonds, and other financial products. Some big banks and asset managers have already started pilot programs or launched tokenized investment products.

With this launch, Bybit is moving beyond just cryptocurrency trading and into digital investment infrastructure. As more people want tokenized financial products, exchanges are competing to become the main link between traditional assets and blockchain markets.

Industry experts think tokenized bonds could become one of the biggest growth areas in the digital asset economy.
