BTC Rebounds, Alts Rally on Risk-On Sentiment

Bitcoin bounced back on Thursday, climbing over 2% to trade above $113,200 after dipping to a weekly low near $108,000. The recovery tracked fresh record highs in the S&P 500 and upbeat earnings from Nvidia, lifting risk appetite.

Longer-term forecasts remain optimistic. Standard Chartered reaffirmed its $200,000–$250,000 Bitcoin target for end-2025, while Bernstein expects $200,000 by early 2026, citing robust ETF inflows fueling a “new institutional era.”

Standard Chartered also flagged Ethereum (ETH) as undervalued, projecting $7,500 by end-2025 and $25,000 by 2028. Analysts highlight accelerating ETF inflows, pension allocations, and reduced supply post-halving as key tailwinds.

Ethereum traded near $4,610 (+1%), lifting the global crypto market cap to $3.92 trillion (+2.05%).

Among altcoins

Cronos (CRO) surged 52.5% after Trump Media & Tech Group, Crypto.com, and Yorkville unveiled a $6.4B Cronos treasury.

Numerai’s AI-driven hedge fund delivered a 25.45% net return in 2024, attracting institutional partners like JPMorgan, which recently allocated $500M in capacity. Hence it’s native token NMR surged 30% to $21.82.

Solana (SOL) jumped 5.3% to $213.86 on reports Pantera Capital is raising $1.25B for a Nasdaq-listed Solana treasury company.

PI gained 7% to $0.36 on its Swapfone listing (PI/USDS), though analysts caution the rally reflects short covering rather than long-term demand.

Broader majors—BNB, DOGE, ADA, SUI, AVAX, DOT, UNI, SHIB—rose 2–3%.

Macro Outlook

Political turbulence in Washington weighed on traditional markets after President Trump’s bid to remove Fed Governor Lisa Cook stoked concerns over central bank independence.

While Treasurys and the dollar weakened, gold has surged 30% YTD on safe-haven flows. However, Fed Chair Powell’s dovish stance—acknowledging tariff-led inflation and slowing jobs—has revived risk appetite.

Analysts at CoinSwitch say expectations of rate cuts are supporting Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the wider crypto market.
