BitPay, a cryptocurrency payment firm, has received a license from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets. With this license, BitPay can conduct business in all EU member states in accordance with the Markets in Crypto-Assets legislation.

BitPay may now extend its stablecoin and cryptocurrency payment services throughout Europe as a licensed Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP). The approval comes soon after the EU’s July 1 MiCA deadline, which requires crypto service providers in the region to follow the new regulations.

This licence is a key step for BitPay as Europe works toward unified rules for digital assets. With MiCA, a CASP licence from one EU country allows companies to offer regulated services throughout the European Economic Area, so they do not need separate approvals in each country.

According to BitPay, the Dutch license will enable it to provide payment services for consumers and businesses more quickly. In order to satisfy the growing demand for quicker and less expensive blockchain-based payments, the company intends to offer more cryptocurrency and stablecoin transactions.

The region is one of BitPay’s top growing markets, according to Jonathan Arler, Head of Europe. He said the new rules give digital payments a stronger base and help businesses feel more confident about using crypto payment solutions.
