The market for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) has now surpassed $34 billion as more institutions show interest in blockchain-based financial products.
At the same time, crypto trading platform Bitget launched a new regulated tokenization platform called Reality. The platform’s goal is to connect traditional financial markets with blockchain by first offering tokenized stocks and securities.
Industry data shows that tokenized US Treasury products now lead the RWA market, followed by commodities, private credit, and other assets. The sector has grown quickly since mid-2024 as more institutions try out blockchain-based settlement and ownership systems.
Bitget said the Reality platform works with licensed brokers linked to major US exchanges like Nasdaq and NYSE. The company says the platform is built to solve problems like illiquidity, corporate actions, and dividend distribution that have affected earlier tokenized securities.
The platform also offers features like fractional ownership, 24/5 minting and redemption, and compatibility with DeFi apps. Bitget said the system runs under regulated infrastructure with fully collateralized reserves and audited smart contracts.
This launch shows the growing effort to bring traditional financial assets onto blockchain networks. While the RWA sector is still focused on low-risk products like Treasury bills, many in the industry think tokenized stocks and other financial instruments could become a much bigger part of the market in the future.
