AI Powered Microscope Installed To Detect Malaria
An official said that the Malkangiri district hospital in Odisha has installed a pioneering artificial intelligence-enabled microscope on a trial basis.
On 13th Sept, it was officially opened at the hospital by Prafulla Kumar Nanda, the chief district medical and public health officer for Malkangiri.
He claimed that the AI microscope can accurately identify malaria.
For better diagnosis, the microscope, created by a start-up from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, easily distinguishes between two malaria parasites, P falciparum and P vivax.
