Especially when you are tucked in your bed with a hot beverage on a cold winter night and watching Frank Capra’s 1946 classic Christmas film ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ starring Jimmy Stewart, that has gained immense popularity and has become a holiday tradition for many people around the world.
“It’s a Wonderful Life” is a masterpiece showcasing the story of a man experiencing what it was like to never have been born. It’s a heartwarming and uplifting story about love, loss, hope, and redemption. Here’s a sneak peek of ‘It’s a wonderful life.’ Why not? After all, it’s the Christmas season.
Like me, if you are a fan of the iconic southern drawl of the late Jimmy Stewart, then you would be thrilled to know that Jimmy Stewart’s unique and soothing voice has been brought back to life using Artificial Intelligence to help you sleep better and faster this holiday season.
Unfortunately, sometimes expectations associated with the holidays about giving the right gift, hosting the perfect meal, or attending several parties can become a source of stress and anxiety and, in turn, throw off your sleep cycle for a toss.
You would be surprised to learn that less than one-third of adults get seven hours of quality sleep consistently, and nine out of ten adults report feeling constantly unrested. Sound sleep is essential for good mental and physical health, as well as quality work.
So sometimes, you can’t get to sleep; you are tossing and stirring. You want someone to read you a nice, wholesome bedtime story. And what if that someone turns out to be legendary actor Jimmy Stewart?
The sleep and meditation app ‘Calm’ recently released a new story titled ‘It’s a Wonderful Sleep Story’ for premium users, narrated by the AI voice of Jimmy Stewart.
The app is well-known for its “Sleep Stories,” which are bedtime tales read aloud by celebrities to aid in sleep, such as Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, and Harry Styles.
However, it sought assistance from Respeecher, a Ukrainian startup that creates artificial intelligence-driven speech synthesizers and voice clones, for their Stewart tale. The family and estate of Jimmy Stewart, managed by CMG Worldwide, agreed to participate in the project.
To resurrect Mr. Stewart’s voice, Respeecher fed recordings of the actor into its system to train it to recognize the voice. It then combined it with that of a voice actor who read the new story.
In conclusion, I would like to add that in the era of rising deep fakes used by scammers for nefarious purposes, the Calm app revives the late actor’s voice using AI with consent from Jimmy Stewart’s estate to bring calmness into one’s life, which is generally marred by the chaos of life.
