The XRP community is getting ready for a big technical update as the XRP Ledger (XRPL) plans its v3.1.3 mainnet upgrade on May 27. Developers say this update will fix issues with NFTs, lending protocols, vaults, and permissioned domains.
Before the upgrade, about half of XRPL nodes have already switched to the latest software, showing the network is getting ready. Validators and node operators are being told to update soon so they don’t become “amendment-blocked,” which would stop them from joining in network decisions.
Reports say the amendment now has full support from validators and Ripple-linked contributors, which has eased earlier worries in the community. This upgrade is part of XRPL’s bigger plan to support tokenized real-world assets, add permissioned exchange features, and prepare for post-quantum security.
At the same time, large holders have collected millions of XRP tokens in the past week, even though trading volumes are still low. Futures trading tied to XRP has also gone up before the network upgrade.
Analysts think that if the upgrade goes well, it could boost confidence in XRPL’s long-term plans and help build its reputation with institutions.
XRPL 3.1.3 is now in its two-week activation period.
