Generative AI to Cut Accounting Tasks Time
A new report by Pearson suggests that generative AI could automate 46% of time spent on accounting tasks in India by 2032. This could involve 30% or more of the time spent on tasks in white-collar roles such as accountants, bookkeeping clerks, word processor operators, administrative secretaries, and stall/market salespersons.
In contrast, less than 1% of blue-collar jobs like weavers, knitters, waiters, bakers/cooks could be done by generative AI. The report also highlights a significant 29% difference in task-level impact between white-collar and blue-collar jobs in India. The most impacted job is accounting and book-keeping, followed by word processors and related operators.
