Govt to Monitor Agri News Using AI
The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) has partnered with Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Wadhwani AI) to launch Krishi 24/7, an AI-powered solution that automates the monitoring and analysis of agricultural news.
The system, developed with Google.org support, aims to provide real-time insights and facilitate informed decision-making for farmers and sustainable agricultural growth. Krishi 24/7 can scan news articles in multiple languages and automatically translate them into English, making them accessible to a wider audience.
It extracts vital information from articles, including headlines, crop names, event types, dates, locations, severity, summaries, and source links. The “AI for India 2.0” program is a significant step towards promoting inclusive and equitable technological education in India.
