Government Unveils £37 mn Funding For AI Projects
The UK government has announced a £32 million funding pool for companies and academic groups wanting to employ AI technology in novel ways.
Government financing will assist AI initiatives across a variety of industries, including agriculture and fashion, in the run-up to the AI Safety Summit.
For 100 initiatives involving small firms in the UK, feasibility studies have received an additional £5 million in order to encourage all industries to be prepared for the development of AI.
The most recent artificial intelligence initiative to win government assistance was Kapdaa, a sustainable clothing line that employs AI to recycle textiles and fibers.
Other funded initiatives include a TradeWork system for project management helped by AI and a DeepPlanet tool for disease prediction in wine grape plants using satellite imagery.
