CrypToadz NFT Sells For $1.6 mn
A CrypToadz NFT on Ethereum was sold for over $1.6 million on October 10th, despite weakened demand for NFT assets. The buyer paid 1,055 Wrapped Ethereum (WETH) on the OpenSea marketplace, including a fee of almost $42,000. This amount is significantly more than the typical going rate for a CrypToadz NFT, which currently starts at 0.53 ETH ($835) on OpenSea. The best listed offer on the NFT is just below 0.6 ETH ($940), indicating that the buyer paid well above the market rate for this profile picture (PFP) project.
Crypto Twitter commenters initially suggested a “fat finger” mistake, where buyers may have paid more than intended. However, there have been instances where sellers have accepted bids below the market price for a particular collection. For example, the wallet that purchased CrypToadz NFT on October 10th was recently funded with 1,116 ETH from another wallet and 1,200 ETH from Ethereum coin mixing service Tornado Cash in September.
