Israel Seizes Hamas Crypto Accounts
Israeli police reportedly shut down cryptocurrency accounts linked to the Palestinian organisation Hamas, according to a local news report.
Following a Hamas strike on Israel over the weekend that escalated into a full-fledged battle, a local news outlet, Calcalist, reported on Tuesday, citing an official notification, that Israel’s defence chief had ordered a complete blockade of the Palestinian enclave of Gaza.
The defence ministry, intelligence divisions, and cryptocurrency exchange Binance all worked together to identify the accounts under scrutiny, as did Lahav 433, the Israel Police’s digital division. The report also indicates that Israel’s national treasuries will get the confiscated funds.
