G7 To Draw Up AI Code Of Conduct This Autumn

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has announced plans to hold a video conference with the Group of Seven leaders to develop international guidelines and a code of conduct for AI tool developers. The plan is part of the Hiroshima AI Process, an initiative for best practices in generative AI. The Japanese government’s new economic package will include aid for computational resources development, basic computational models, and increased AI adoption in small businesses and the medical field. The plan is part of the Hiroshima AI Process initiative.

The Hiroshima AI Process, agreed upon at the G7 summit in May, calls for international guidelines covering generative AI users by the end of the year. Japan’s presidency of the G7, which includes Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the United States, and the European Union, emphasizes the importance of technologies that confirm and verify information to combat fake imagery and disinformation created by generative AI.
