LaLiga NFT Fantasy Games Coming to North America
GameOn, a gaming startup, has a new agreement with LaLiga North America to create NFT-based fantasy games for the American and Canadian supporters of the Spanish soccer league.
In order to create fantasy lineups that receive points based on each player’s actual performance on the field, fans will be able to purchase packs of LaLiga players as NFTs. Additionally, players can buy digital accessories like cleats, shirts, or hats to give their in-game player avatars bonuses that result in point multipliers.
In the first quarter of 2024, GameOn’s LaLiga-branded web app will make its debut in the United States and Canada. It will include social chat capabilities and competitions for fans to win cash, VIP match tickets, autographed goods, and access to player meet-and-greets. The company will create video games based on both LaLiga soccer leagues, including LaLiga EA Sports, the top-tier league, and LaLiga Hypermotion, the second-tier league.
