Ethereum Layer-2 Network Base Suffers Outage
The Ethereum Layer-2 network known as Base experienced a temporary outage that lasted about 30 minutes, with full resolution requiring another 30 minutes.
The event was reported on Twitter by the team, who stated that the delay in block generation was due in part to the requirement for a refresh of their internal infrastructure. They also assured users that no funds were at risk during the downtime. The development team labeled the problem as a “Base chain stall” on the project status page.
Users experienced difficulties submitting transactions on Tuesday. A solution was developed within 14 minutes, and the network began recovering. However, a delay in issuing an all-clear report was caused by a problem with remote procedure calls. Base promptly addressed the issue and assured users’ funds’ security.
