Ripple Unlocks 1 bn XRP From Escrow
In response to a correction that has seen the price of XRP fall by more than 3% in the past day, Ripple has released 1 billion XRP from escrow for the month of September.
The escrow unlocks were initially brought to the public’s attention by prominent whale-tracking platform Whale Alert in a series of automated posts on X. At midnight today, all transactions took place simultaneously.
Notably, Ripple released 1 billion tokens this month in four uneven transactions. Escrow Execution 11, the initial transaction, released 200 million XRP worth $102 million.
Escrow Execution 13 involved 300 million XRP worth $153.2 million, moving to a Ripple-controlled address with a balance of 1 billion XRP. The remaining two transactions involved the release of 500 million tokens, with Escrow Execution 12 releasing 400 million XRP worth $204.2 million and Escrow Execution 13 releasing 100 million XRP worth $51 million. No unusual Memo was found in any of the four transactions, unlike August’s escrow release transactions.
