Web3 Apps Gained Users In June: DappRadar
According to a new analysis from DappRadar, Web3 activity surged in June despite regulatory moves targeting top centralised exchanges.
According to the report, approximately 2 million wallets engaged with dApps on a daily basis in June, a 1.4% rise over May. While web3 gaming maintained its lead with 36% of users, DeFi came in second with 35% after growing 14%. Six of the top 10 most popular dApps are from the DeFi industry.
According to DappRadar, the rising use is due to airdrop hunters piling up transactions on Layer 2s zkSync Era and StarkNet, as well as the cross-chain bridging technology LayerZero.
Despite an increase in users in the larger dApp sector, the number of active wallets on Ethereum fell by 50% in June to 77,000. DappRadar attributed the decline to a sharp drop in NFT activity. Ethereum is now the sixth-ranked chain by unique active wallets, slipping two spots since May.
