‘Hopeless’ Remark On India’s AI Models

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, responded on Monday to comments made by Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, who claimed that India’s chances of developing an AI tool similar to the ChatGPT are “hopeless.” According to the minister, Altman is not the final word on the nation’s goals for artificial intelligence.

Altman was described by Chandrasekhar as a “bright man” who contributed significantly to OpenAI. But the minister insisted that he should only be seen as a significant figure in the field of artificial intelligence while being recognised for his efforts. “He won’t necessarily represent India’s objectives for artificial intelligence, I can assure you of that. He undoubtedly doesn’t comprehend India’s AI capabilities, according to Chandrasekhar, who spoke to the website.

The minister declared that Altman’s comments will be treated with the appropriate respect. But Chandrasekhar said that it would be missing the point to presume that anything the AI chief does or says will be exactly what Indian entrepreneurs will accomplish.

According to Altman, no one has the right answer to the question of what a startup can do to benefit society.
