The number grew rapidly from 26 on October 26 to 38 by October 28, with 12 more joining in the October 30 update. The latest additions include Nvidia, Nike, Costco, Micron, Reddit, CrowdStrike, Corning, IREN, USA Rare Earth, Bloom Energy, Palo Alto Networks, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Earlier objectors include Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, AMD, Intel, and Walmart. OKXICE had originally proposed tokenizing shares of 62 companies across 63 stock symbols.
Nasdaq’s Alleged Role
Allegations emerged that Nasdaq representatives encouraged listed companies to formally oppose the OKXICE venture. Nasdaq declined to directly address those claims but stated it prefers an issuer-led approach to tokenization.
THE BLOCK: 50 companies have now objected to tokenized trading of their shares on OKXICE, the venue run by OKX and NYSE parent ICE.

Approximately 65% of the 50 objecting firms are Nasdaq-listed, while the remainder trade on the NYSE. The growing opposition reflects broader discomfort among traditional corporations with third-party tokenization of their shares without direct involvement.
SEC Rules & Scope Of Objections
Under the SEC’s temporary trading exemption introduced on September 17, publicly traded companies have 30 calendar days after receiving notice to file a written objection with OKXICE.
A timely objection legally bars OKXICE from offering tokenized versions of that company’s shares through unaffiliated third-party tokens.
However, the objections apply only to this specific venue and third-party model. They do not prevent a company from pursuing tokenization of its own shares through other means or independently creating tokenized securities in the future.
