Binance is expanding its traditional finance offering by launching options trading on more than 1,000 US stocks and exchange-traded funds for eligible users outside the United States. The options will be offered through Binance’s Abu Dhabi-regulated broker-dealer, Nest Trading, with orders routed to US-registered Alpaca Securities for execution, clearing, settlement and custody. The launch expands Binance’s existing equities offering and adds another traditional financial product to its platform.

The new service builds on Binance’s offering of more than 7,000 US stocks and ETFs. Users who are eligible for the options product will therefore have access to a much broader range of traditional market instruments through the platform.

Unlike equity-linked perpetual futures, the newly introduced options are physically settled. This means that when an option is exercised, the buyer or seller receives or delivers the underlying shares rather than settling the position only in cash.

According to Binance, there has been a notable increase in interest in traditional financial products on its platform. According to the business, trading in TradFi perpetual futures reached over $433 billion in August, which is roughly fifteen times the amount in January.

The expansion coincides with the growing convergence of the traditional financial and cryptocurrency industries. While well-known financial companies are investigating tokenized versions of stocks and other assets, cryptocurrency exchanges are integrating stocks and other traditional financial items.

The market for tokenized stocks has also grown rapidly. According to RWA.xyz data cited in the source material, tokenized stocks had about $2.6 billion in distributed value, compared with roughly $346 million a year earlier.

Monthly transfer volume for tokenized stocks had risen to about $25.1 billion over the previous 30 days, while the number of holders had increased to nearly 2.5 million.

Other crypto platforms are also expanding their equities businesses. Coinbase recently introduced its B20 tokenized equities on Base for eligible users outside the US. The platform offers onchain versions of companies including Apple, Nvidia, Meta and Alphabet. Kraken has also expanded access to US-listed stocks for eligible European customers, alongside its growing range of tokenized xStocks.

Meanwhile, Robinhood launched Robinhood Chain in July along with a new generation of Stock Tokens for eligible users in more than 120 countries.

For Binance, the options launch adds another layer to its growing traditional-finance offering. The use of a regulated broker-dealer and an established US securities firm for execution, clearing, settlement and custody also connects the service with existing financial-market infrastructure.

The broader trend suggests that crypto platforms are increasingly becoming gateways to a wider range of financial products. Users who once came to these platforms mainly for cryptocurrencies can now find access to equities, exchange-traded funds, derivatives and tokenized assets.

Binance’s latest move strengthens that trend by bringing options on more than 1,000 US stocks and ETFs to eligible international users, further expanding the range of traditional financial products available through a crypto-focused platform.
