Ripple and blockchain infrastructure provider SettleMint have announced a strategic partnership to expand tokenization across the Asia Pacific region. The collaboration brings together Ripple Custody and SettleMint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform to give regulated financial institutions an integrated system for the issuance, custody and management of tokenized assets.

The solution is already available in Asia and can be expanded into additional markets based on institutional demand. It is designed to cover areas including compliance, settlement and asset servicing.

The partnership aims to make it easier for banks and other regulated institutions to manage digital assets without having to coordinate several separate technology providers.

Ripple Custody provides infrastructure for institutions to securely hold digital assets, stablecoins and real-world assets. Ripple has been expanding the platform through partnerships and acquisitions as financial institutions increasingly explore blockchain-based financial products.

SettleMint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform, or DALP, is designed for regulated financial institutions, market infrastructure operators and sovereign entities. It supports the design, issuance and management of tokenized real-world assets and provides controls for managing those assets throughout their lifecycle.

By combining the two platforms, institutions can use one connected system for several stages of a tokenized asset’s journey. These include issuing an asset, applying compliance and permissioning controls, holding it securely, settling transactions and managing it after issuance.

The partnership is particularly relevant as banks and financial institutions look at tokenization as a way to modernize existing financial-market processes. Tokenized assets can represent traditional financial instruments and real-world assets on blockchain networks, potentially allowing transactions and ownership records to be managed digitally.

Ripple has also been increasing its investment in the wider tokenization ecosystem. The company has invested in ZILO and Licuido, two firms working on areas such as token issuance, transfer-agent services and collateral management on the XRP Ledger.

These investments complement Ripple’s broader effort to build infrastructure around institutional digital assets. The company is positioning custody, issuance and asset management as connected parts of the emerging digital financial system.

SettleMint’s platform is already being used in production and pre-production programmes across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, according to the announcement. Its focus is on providing institutions with the tools needed to operate tokenized assets within regulated environments.

The wider tokenization market is also attracting growing attention from major financial institutions. A Boston Consulting Group report published in May 2026 estimated that tokenized real-world assets could reach $88 trillion by 2035.

For banks and other financial institutions, the appeal of tokenization lies not only in creating digital versions of existing assets but also in building more efficient infrastructure around their issuance, settlement, custody and management.

The Ripple-SettleMint partnership adds another piece to that infrastructure. With the initial availability in Asia Pacific, the companies are now looking to meet institutional demand for integrated digital-asset services as tokenization continues to develop across global financial markets.
