- In order to increase the use of the stablecoin in institutional finance, World Liberty Financial introduced USD1 natively on the Canton Network.
- With a market capitalization of roughly $4.05 billion, USD1 is the sixth-largest stablecoin.
- Institutions can use USD1 for tokenized RWA settlements, such as lending, asset issuance, redemptions, and derivatives collateral.
- Atomic settlement with tokenized assets on Canton is made possible by native USD1 issuance.
World Liberty Financial has launched its USD1 stablecoin natively on the Canton Network, expanding its use in institutional financial markets and tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).
$USD1 is now live on @CantonNetwork.
Canton processes $350B in U.S. Treasury repo every day, combining public blockchain infrastructure with configurable, institutional-grade privacy so only the parties who need to see a transaction can see it. @worldlibertyfi 🦅☝️ https://t.co/tVICr9wn3q

Zach Witkoff, co-founder of World Liberty Financial, also confirmed the launch in an X post, highlighting Canton Network’s institutional-scale activity and its role in supporting USD1.
The integration allows institutions to use USD1 as the cash leg for transactions involving derivatives collateral, institutional lending, asset issuance, and redemptions, according to the announcement.
Native issuance means USD1 can settle alongside tokenized assets within the same transaction. The setup also allows institutions to benefit from Canton’s privacy and permissioning features.
USD1 Surpasses $4 Billion Market Cap
USD1 has grown into one of the stablecoins in the crypto market. According to DeFiLlama data USD1 has a market capitalization of $4.05 billion, which places USD1 in the sixth spot among stablecoins.
USD1 is issued by BitGo Bank & Trust a company that manages USD1 reserves and handles minting and redemption operations for USD1.
USD1 is supported by assets such, as short‑term U.S. Treasuries, government money‑market funds and dollar deposits.
World Liberty Financial launched USD1 in March 2025 as part of its broader push into digital assets and institutional finance.
Canton Targets Institutional Finance
The USD1 integration comes as Canton continues to expand its role in institutional blockchain infrastructure.
Canton is a public, permissionless blockchain focused on financial applications and tokenized assets. The network says it processes more than $9 trillion in tokenized assets each month, while more than $350 billion in onchain U.S. Treasurys move across the network daily.
The addition of USD1 gives institutions another stablecoin option for settling transactions involving tokenized financial products.
Broader Canton Ecosystem Expansion
The integration also follows a series of developments around Canton’s institutional ecosystem.
Last week, Digital Asset and former U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan’s American Idea Foundation announced plans to pilot a Canton-based system for distributing state-administered benefits across three U.S. states beginning in 2027.
