Strive has bought 1,800 Bitcoin for about $143 million, lifting its total holdings to 23,156 BTC. With this purchase, the Dallas-based asset manager has become the fifth-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder. The company paid an average of $79,431 per BTC, including fees and expenses, between August 24 and 28. The latest purchase helped Strive overtake Bullish, which holds 22,000 BTC. Strive’s Bitcoin stash was worth roughly $1.8 billion as of August 31, highlighting how quickly the rankings among major corporate Bitcoin holders are changing.

The most recent transaction comes only one week after another significant deal. Strive purchased 1,110 BTC for around $81.5 million on August 17 and August 21, paying an average of $73,409 per coin. The corporation grew its Bitcoin holdings by almost 8.4% in just five business days.

Strive, which trades on Nasdaq under the ticker ASST, has been steadily building its Bitcoin treasury. The company mainly finances these purchases through the sale of common shares and preferred stock. Its SATA preferred security, which offers a 13% annualised dividend paid every business day, has become an important source of funding.

CEO Matt Cole has described SATA as a distinctive financing tool in the US market. He has said that the security supports much of Strive’s Bitcoin buying when it trades close to its $100 par value.

The latest purchase moved Strive ahead of Bullish, the cryptocurrency exchange and digital asset infrastructure company that recently became publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BLSH. Bullish had 22,000 BTC after selling 1,700 BTC in late June.

Strive still has a considerable gap to close with the companies above it. MARA Holdings has 35,577 BTC, while Strategy remains in a league of its own with 845,050 BTC after its latest purchase of 4,603 Bitcoin.

Strive’s rapid expansion is notable given its recent financial performance. The company reported a net loss of $257.6 million for the quarter ended June 30. It said 94% of that loss was linked to declines in Bitcoin’s price and the value of its investment in Strategy’s preferred shares.

Despite the volatility, Cole has stressed that Strive has a debt-free balance sheet, no margin requirements and an unencumbered Bitcoin position. The company entered the ranks of major corporate Bitcoin holders after merging with Asset Entities in September 2025 and expanded further through its all-stock acquisition of Semler Scientific in January 2026.

The race among public companies to build large Bitcoin reserves is clearly getting more competitive. Strive’s latest move shows that the ranking can change quickly when a company is willing to keep buying, even during periods of significant market volatility.
