Five Fiat Currencies & Three Stablecoin Options
Stripe’s new infrastructure will handle five money types: the US dollar, the Brazilian real, the euro, the Mexican peso, and the Colombian peso.
The system supports stablecoins such as USDC, OUSD, and other stablecoins that follow the GENIUS rules.
The goal is to reduce steps when changing money. For instance, someone who has euros can use euros directly, without turning their money into US dollars first. Companies that work in places can also get cards that use the money their business needs.
Stripe wants to expand this step by letting people use different money balances. When they check out the right money type will be chosen automatically.
